Scent of Peace; Across the Dreamer’s Face

Air-conditioned shopping malls, enigmatic movie houses, comfy restaurants and tall buildings might be deceiving but my heart calls for a place that shelters an entity filled with uncertainty.

Throughout my first year college life, I chose to ignore my probinsyana identity. The most important thing for me was to fit in- wear the latest clothes, listen to the coolest music, and speak the commonly spoken expressions between friends. If anyone asked me of my ethnic background, I emphasized that I was born in the province but I was raised in the city for the following years. Somehow, I had come to the conclusion that to fit myself in the city life, I must exclude my provincial heritage.

As I tread along the deceiving city life, I arrived at the point of recognizing the real essence of my probinsyana identity. I discovered that the messy reality of living in cities. The fear inside seemed to be endless every time I went out of my boarding house. I had to be extra careful because conscienceless snatchers might accomplish their mission with my unconscious participation. Turn left, turn right, have a strong sense of sight, a number of vehicles might hit you right under the shade of the sun so bright. What’s more? Pollution is everywhere jeopardizing everybody’s health. On the corners were street children craving for food while their parents were busy begging for alms from the people passing by. They are indeed, lazy people, wasting their time in being worthless members of the society. On the other hand, there were laborers who looked very exhausted working on markets and terminals just to receive a minimal amount of peso coins. What an annoying scenario of a hated life- very messy, untidy and chaotic.

Being able to witness all of these sad authenticities of city life, I end up realizing that rural life is still the most convenient life a person can ever live in. Looking through the beauty of nature as I wake up every morning made me feel secured and safe, free from the dangerous hazards of the city. Every people in our province were working hard to earn a living. If we want to reap something, then start sowing now. Everything we need was served by the nature. There’s no need to snatch on streets just to finance our expenses. We just have to work hard on farms and enjoy the exquisiteness what a wonderful, superb, amazing, astonishing and brilliant life it is to live in provinces than in cities.

Now, as I begin to live upon the lessons I learned, I integrate this new knowledge unto my upbringing for me to be a better person. This process of integration bridges the two identities of human life (city and rural) in which the humanity used to live in. now, I no longer say I love city life because it is in my probinsyana identity that I live in peace as I continue in this chaotic city just to realize every part of my dreams and aspirations in life.

PRELIM EXAMINATION

2.Construct a concept map showing the advantages and disadvantages the Transmission approach in Teaching Literature. Limit each to 4 entries.

Prelim Examination

1.Discuss how Modelling and Scaffolding affect in the child’s learning progress.

Modelling and Scaffolding both affects the child's learning process because these are essentially-structured to give emphasis on independent learning. Learners are active participants of the learning process. They are inclined to discover things for the sake of learning progress.
Modelling promotes the development of spatial intelligence allowing the students to follow the patterns used by the mentors. They will not be left alone in the process because they are imitators but not totally dependent. Upon modelling, they also have the chance to integrate their personal discoveries in the processes they gathered.
Scaffolding is a major tool for discovery learning. They will be able to create a schema that is an integration of their prior knowledge and the concepts gained from the current mentor who imparts valuable information to them.
These two things remind the learners to walk on to the road of learning progress with independence and cognitive awareness.

3.Create your own motivational strategy showing the use of Student-centered Theory to introduce a topic in Literature. Discuss how you will implement the strategy. make your own title and identify the materials to be used.

"I am who I am"

Instruction: Find a pair, then you create a 2-3 mins. jingle. The lyrics should be about your personal characteristics both positive and negative. Make it jolly and fun(entertaining). You are only given 30 minutes to practice. Present your jingle in front of the class. NO need of props just bring yourselves in front with enough confidence and vigor.

This can motivate my students to participate in my lesson because my main objective is to let them distinguish positive and negative attitudes possessed by the young people of this generation. The theme of the story that I will present is contentment and satisfaction of ones possessions both material and non-material. The story will remind them to reflect on their personalities to eventually grow up morally-inclined.

Learning and Development is a Good Social Collaborative Activity
Why do we have to see these two things as a social collaborative activity?
Can't we just consider those as alive if we can already see them present within the learners personally? Isn't it enough to justify the product of learning?
Well, to rectify such mentality, let us start upon apprehending that collaborative learning is both socially and intellectually
involving. It invites students to build closer connections to other students, teachers, and to the community people that gives an authentic view of applied learning.

This notion gives clear implication that it is a must to connect the expenditure of theories learned in the school unto the social setting. This will be a productive way of attaining the bottom line of learning which is to prepare the students for their future roles as productive members of the society. We need to conceptualize development as the transformation of socially shared activities into internalized processes that signifies the real essence of learning.

For me, the central task of educators is considering of our profession as a system rather than as a set of isolated activities that merely focuses on the transmission of knowledge alone. There must be a universal view of the process in a social situation.
This principle highlights the concept of interdependence of social and individual processes that must be integrated intellectually by the teachers to make the learning process active.

Out-of-school experiences should be related to the child's school experience.

The Concept behind this principle is that, the socially structured interdependence of teaching , and educational intervention provides a starting point for applied learning theories.

My analyses are based on the concept that human activities take place in cultural contexts, are mediated by language and other symbol systems, and can be best understood when investigated in their practical development in the society.

The teachers can never isolate the learnings gained from the school and the outside world. with this, the activities must be of the same purpose so as to fully attain the maximum level of knowledge construction as justified by constructivist theory of application in social context.

There must be a healthy relationship between the learners and the rest of the factors that affects learning not only within the school but also unto the community (out-of-school) social settings.

This implies that the relation of the two settings mentioned must be in line with the same objectives to avoid conlficting understanding and may lead to the failure of the implementation of the theories learned. The concepts gathered at school must be justified and validated by the learners in the society itself. Because nothing's more authentic place for implementation of instructions but only the community where we belong.

Learning institutions could have only existed for intellectual (cognitive) purposes alone, if and only the community already can serve as the best training ground that caters purely positive and productive practical lessons unto the minds of the youth. -- ELMA -- *^_^*

My Philosophy As An Educator

To Teach is To Touch Lives Forever

My main goal as an educator is not only limited on cognitive aspects. There is a need to explore the entire being of my students. I have to scrutinize their totality and rectify their immaturity. Change them into better individuals by merging their two conflicting worlds

—youth and maturity.

The teaching profession involves many-sided tasks. The toil to be ventured must be filled with sacrifices accompanied with passion, patience and enthusiasm. Arduous as it seems, it is not easy, and never will it be. Even though it’s paradoxical to say that, it must also be installed on my heart and mind to be truly awake in the world I chose to be a part of. Being aware of its complications is also a major step in getting to know what the teaching profession really is.

I am now in the phase of life wherein I am called to perform with excellence. My plans must be perfected with such an unadulterated aspiration to mitigate impact unto the novice minds of the youth I will be teaching. With strong faith, coupled with precedent potential and ease for greater outcomes, I will then be one of the most productive educators of my generation.

Being in this profession entails many things that involves not just purely knowledge but the wisdom beyond what the human brain alone can incapacitate.

As I go on with my journey as an education student, I learned that I need to grow and eventually live by the virtue of being an exceptional teacher by following this philosophy I have to inculcate in my entire being that I am a teacher because I am a licensed professional who possesses dignity and reputation with high moral values as well as technical and professional competence. I am practicing a set of ethical moral principles, standards and values.

an exeptional person

This instructor of mine wake my young mind up that life may not be that easy but at least, i should try to take it easy and everything will run slickly. sir, you will remain as one of my favorite teachers not because you have given me wondrous grades, but because of your mitigated impact on my entire student life!

Thank you and GOd bless you ahead!

To Live is to Love

To Live is to Love

In this chaotic world where everybody is in struggle of their means in their means of survival, seldom do we ponder on the true essence of living. Yet as we continue on our journey, we come to ask ourselves, what are we here for? What is our destined mission in life?

Life may sound ordinary and plain yet so philosophical and full of twists and turns. In all its complexities it is indeed beyond human intellectual capacity. I see life where almost everything is in state of anguish and despondency- war, injustice and rejection these are just few things that justify the fact that the world is in commotion. This may lead us to melancholy and desolation.

Why do we have to stress ourselves with these annoying challenges in life, while in fact, we can also see the positive side of it? I can say that what gives meaning to life is, LOVE! Love is thorny but it is eternal truth in the history of mankind. It unlocks the gate to happiness and allows us to reach our hearts to ourselves and others. It gives us life. A life without love is void.

What it is then to live? Some may painlessly utter an instant answer and others may find it difficult to respond. But I think we are old enough to realize that to live is simply to love. Yes without any doubt, it is! To live is to love take pleasure in every moment of it. Even if we feel unwanted, we must put in mind that if we learn to love unconditionally, everything will definitely run smoothly. We must go beyond imperfections and allow ourselves to love for us to be loved also and never be afraid of rejections I tell you!

We all have the qualifications to love no matter how cruel we think of ourselves, for goodness and love is innate within us. We should not allow obstacles to hinder us from loving for as long as we live in love, we remain true to our hope that life beyond its imperfections remains as a gift from God. So life tells us all to spend it with love and I know we can all live with this virtue accordingly.
